Till 2022, our beloved country INDIA has got a golden 53 years history of organising International Film Festival of India, held annually in Goa. Our beloved city Kolkata, the City of Joy, is also having a 28 years old International Film Festival, but till date the country doesn’t have any annual International Film Festival especially dedicated to Sports, but the Indians are believed to be a sports fanatic countryman.
Incidentally, Bengal & Bengali language is the pioneer to initiate the Indian Sports Movie genre by presenting multi starrer comedy “DhonniMeye” in way back in 1971.
In view of that, to commemorate the effort of Bengal, “Social Sports Foundation”, a Kolkata based registered Trust have decided to host a full-fledged International Sports Film Festival annually in Kolkata, India titled “BULLS EYE – International Sports Film Festival of India”.
To plan, curate & execute different UNIQUE social & sportive events and to support under privileged Kids, financially disable sports stars belongs to the Societies of Kolkata and or of West Bengal, the Social Sports Foundation (SSF), a TRUST is being created initially with 3 person (viz. Rongon Majumder, Kapil Saha& Koushik Kundu) having the plan to expand in activities and include notable and important person of the society in due course. The Trust will plan and arrange finance through the curated EVENTS to meet-up the requirements of such different needs.
1. Since the era of silent movie, to till date, almost 125 years of proud journey by International as well as Indian Cinema there are following 11 nos. International Festivals are being organised throughout the World for the Films specially dedicated to sports in genre.
Researchers say in India, Bengali is the language in which the first ever full-fledged Sports movie, “DhonniMeye” was being released as a comedy film. So, to start with, the Trust SSF strongly believes the City of Joy really needs a dedicated International Sports Film Festival of India too to celebrate the genre Sports in Indian Movies and to promote allied business to an International Film festival to make the Indians feel proud and fanatic for sports & movies both at a time.
To start with, this year, the organising committee has decided to host the festival only with screening of 12 pre specified already worldwide released Movies which will be screened during the 4 days long festival between 22nd to 25th June 2023 at NANDAN - III renowned Auditorium in the City of Joy, Kolkata in complete NON-COMMERCIAL format in Technical collaboration with Federation of Film Societies of India (Eastern Region).

Nandan (Kolkata)
Nandan is a government-sponsored film and cultural center in Kolkata, India.[2] The primary aim of the cultural hub is to encourage and facilitate cinematic awareness in society. It includes a few comparatively large screens housed in an impressively architecture building. The complex, besides being a modern cinema and cultural complex, is a popular destination for the young and the aged alike.
Nandan is one of the main venues of the Kolkata International Film Festival , hosting it until 2010. While in 2011 the opening and closing ceremonies was shifted to Netaji Indoor Stadium, Nandan remains the main center for the festival.
